I think it's pick 'em between Salvador Sanchez and Carlos Zarate. My heart would love to pick Rueban Olivares but my head is over-ruling it!

You never heard the others on the list cry after fights and quit like Chavez did or needed Kings help to win a bogus 2nd Randall fight that is when Chavez lost my respect crying a waiting till Randall was faded so he could beat him. A Mexican Fighter is supposed to be Warrior and take on all comers which he did for years then when he lost it ,notice how he waited years to give Meldrick Taylor a rematch after he was shot. Number 1 can't have gift decisions and ***** moves on his resume.Last edited by CletusVanDamme; 06-19-2008, 12:40 PM.

Barrera should be on that list as a choice. I think he comes close to Sanchez and the crew. When they look back, they will say he was awesome and fought everyone he had to. I voted for Chavez because he edges it slightly, but Barrera is high on that list and a possible top 5.

had Salvador not gotten into that crash, I have no doubt at all that he would have been the greatest Mexican fighter of all time. Hell, he could have ended up being the best fighter of all time at the rate he was going.
the fact that he beat Azuham Nelson, Juan LaPorte, Wilfredo Gomez, Ruben Castillo and Danny Lopez x2 in less than 3 years is really just legendary. and he was only 23 when he died...I mean cmon, 23...usually its a good sign if a fighter wins his first world title that early. I think he would have been on his way out at around 30 considering the fights he was in and the competition he was facing, but that would have been 7 years.
He really had the potential to be the best fighter of all time. very sad.
