I've read quite a bit on Tyson's life and the conclusion I made was that he converted to Islam just because he thought it was cool. As fearless and ruthless he was, Mike Tyson was a very manipulable person and had no strong opinion on anything - people found it very easy to convince him in anything, just gotta say it with a smart face. I'm pretty confident he had absolutely no idea what he was doing
