Meldrick Taylor v. Buddy McGirt

This was the first time i seen this fight and wow. Taylor was a ****en baddass. McGirt too looked like a great fight just outclassed but i'll have to see some of his fights on the winning side.

Taylor could do it all. I know Taylor and Whitiker had Lou Duva in there corner and im sure that they also sparred. Does anybody know if there is video tape of Taylor and Whitiker sparring there has to be?

I remember a while back someone did a post of Taylor v. Mayweather and from Taylors performance here im more sure of a Taylor victory over Mayweather, i just don't see what Mayweather has over Taylor besides footwork(fast feet).

I don't understand why if Taylor was such a great talent why they put him in with Norris. And was he put in with Chavez too early? I can defently see why the public would want a Taylor v. Chavez fight and it turned out to be a classic fight but i think Taylor maybe should waited a bit more to take on Chavez?

Great showing for Taylor. And it showed that Taylor has a daughter. Does she look out for her dad?

Don't forget, McGirt had a busted ear drum early on in this fight and it greatly contributed to his poor balance and showing overall.

Defense, smarts, versatility, ring generalship... you know **** that helps wins fights...

I think the Norris fight was one of the last chances for Mel to make money, and his handlers knew it, hence they threw him in 2 divisions above his weight.

And I dont know about waiting for Chavez, I suspect Taylor's heart would have been too big for him to fight a smart fight at any point of his career.
