Tyson vs. Spinks. Spinks didn't even have a chance!

Holmes-Cobb. That was the fight in which commentator Howard Cosell quit boxing.

Tillis and Tucker were reasonably competitive with Tyson.

Excuse my ignorance on this subject, but what do you mean Howard Cosell quit boxing? Educate me my friend.

He got absolutely sick of boxing from watching the extended monotonous beat-down Cobb took. Round after round after round. In the end he was sadly asking why someone didnt stop this fight. Cosell's constant 'negativitity' in this fight, made him quit as boxing-commentator. Or fired I dont know.

Cobb was a loveable person and the best interview of the day. I think Cosell really liked him and felt sorry for him thereby forgetting his role as neutral commentator. Or perhaps the nature of boxing as a hurt-game finally turned him off.
