First thing that convinces me of an whitewash victory to Ali is his granite chin..
I mean he took that left hook of Frazier and got back up in 2 seconds! like wtf??
Who the hell gets up from a devastating punch like that????
He got up as though nothing had hit him..
Tyson would have trouble getting to Ali all night..He would be trying to come near him, and Ali would just keep him at bay, frustrating Tyson.
If Tyson comes close, I will use the Ali -Foreman example of the rope-a-dope.

While Foreman, is definitely no Tyson, he is still the one of the hardest hitters. However though he is a wild slugger with no technique in his punches, where as Tyson is EXTREMELY skillful with copy book technique and accuracy.

I see this going for possibly 12 rounds, with Ali winning by a wide UD decision.
Tyson has a very good chin, and cannot see him getting ko'ed, however if he does tire depending on his workload througout the fight, he will possibly go down, depending on Ali's intensity.
I mean Ali faced NORTON, FOREMAN, FRAZIER, PATTERSON AND LISTON.
And beat them all, and to say that he would lose to Tyson is a bit far fetched.

Tyson didn't really get tested throughout his career, and was actually stopped by Buster.
People say that Tyson was having problems at the time, well so was Buster, with his mother dying not long before the fight..

A guy who had an awesome jab, and an awesome uppercut, gave Tyson a lot of trouble..
Imagine what Ali would have done..

      your on some good crack

Ali doesn't just whoop Tyson like nothing, he would have had trouble. He had a lot of trouble with Frazier, who basically only had a left hook. Tyson was faster and had much more than just a left hook. He had tremendous power in both hands. If anyone could have knocked out Ali, it was Tyson. Since Tyson screwed up so bad after 21 and wasn't worth comparing to anyone at that point, why don't we compare the two fighters at 21 years of age? I don't think Clay had the chin he had later on. Remember how hurt he was after Cooper knocked him down? Imagine if that was Tyson! I see Tyson beating that Clay, but I don't see him beating a 1966 Ali. Because Tyson ****ed up the way he did, he'll always come up short when comparing him to the best. But there's no doubt the road he was on at that age, was more impressive than any heavyweight great in history.

Frasier had more heart than Tyson which made him a dangerous opponent for Ali. Frasier could go 15 rounds at a punishing pace, the man nearly died in the ring.

I dont see Tyson as having anywhere near the same mental toughness or heart to beat Ali.

Tyson could potentially knock Ali out, i mean lesser fighters like Cooper have connected with Ali's jaw and sent him crashing to the canvas, it is not inconceivable that Tyson could get luckly and catch Ali.

I see Ali punishing Tyson in the same way that Old Lewis beat old Tyson.

          A systematic destruction.

Tyson had one major thing going for him against a legend like Ali, his power. If you look at Tyson, his toughest opponents were long boxers, like ruddock and Smith.

There's no doubt that Tyson could have KO'd out anyone in the history of the game but Ali's style would have been incredibly hard for Tyson. Ali was a master boxer who beat the best heavyweights of all time. Granted Ali did lose and had some bad performances but that happens to every fighter.

The key in looking at a fighters legacy is, who did he beat. Ali's competition was 10 times that of Tyson and when Tyson faced the best of his era, he lost. He just didn't lose, he was beaten very badly, including what most experts believe to be the greatest upset in boxing, some say sports, history.

Ali over Tyson but Tyson did have a chance against anyone if he landed a devastating punch that turned the fight in his favor.

I think Ali handles Tyson pretty easily. People like to compare Tyson to Frazier and say Tyson is a better Frazier, but he did not fight inside nearly as well. Frazier was able to make life hell for Ali because he could get inside Ali's range and pound away. Tyson tended to look for lunging power punches to KO his opponents, which against a prime Ali he has little chance of landing. He was no where near the dedicated and dangerous body puncher Frazier was. Even prime Tyson lost his heart and confidence when the fight got to later rounds, and against Ali that gets him knocked out. If it's 15 no question Tyson doesn't last the whole fight, but with 12 I still think Ali gets him out of there.

floyd patterson put up a halfway decent fight against ali. Tyson would have killed him.

The way I can see Tyson winning is by using his explosiveness and his inside game.

With Ali? His jab and movement and knowing when to tie up. I got it a tie if they fought 2 times. One win each.
