    Ill Fated...

    Here is a pic and Boxrec link to Jack Leon, a 1910s heavyweight.

    He was an impressive speciman by the photo, but had some bad luck. Boxrec records in this era are incomplete, but his first recorded fight resulted in the KO and death of his opponent which resulted in him being charged with manslaughter.

    He lost all 3 of subsequent recorded fights, all by KO to major heavy contenders of the day, Andy Morris, Jess Willard, and Bill Brennan.

    Very impressive stature and who knows what might have been. Was he exposed by better fighters or did the result of his first fight effect him that much. I guess we'll never know.
