Well? Who would win this one? I think this would be very boring fight and I go with ali by 14th round tko as I think Tunney's chin wasn't granite! But I think Tunney would lead in scorecards!

Ali vs Tunney?

Gene Tunney would be the better boxer in my opinion. He was a true craftsman, and always studied his foes well before each fight. Further, he had speed of both hands and legs, and I can envision him giving Muhammad Ali an awkward fight.
How ever, I do believe Alis speed to be the key factor here. He moved so fast it would baffle and bewilder the superbly skilled and conditioned Tunney. He also had the slightly longer reach.
I see Ali beating Tunney to the punch all night. Also, with both fighters being backpadlers, one would have to be the aggressor. Ali with his speed and mobility, would probably force Tunney into taking this role. This would obviously favor Alis chances even further.
Being a huge fan of Tunneys, and considering his marvelous defensive abilities, I am willing to see this one going the distance.

You can stay home and mow the grass and I'll use your ticket.
Tunney would have been the toughest fighter Ali ever had to figure out. Speed, footwork, way more experience, was only down once in his career, a devastating Dempsey combo that might have snuffed Ali, we will never know.
Bigger, stronger Ali against more experienced Tunney.
I'd say prior to Patterson, Tunney would win. After Patterson Ali is starting to mature and is in better shape to take on a prime great. Have to favor Ali at some point, but in a series Gene is at least going to win one best to best.

Shoot, I never insult people, though I confess to making great sport of tweaking their favored fighters.
I miss my little buddy Boozo terribly. I sorta lost track of him and he was so much fun, posting real cool videos, avatars, and some classic opinions of me in my mailbox.
With Boozo's genius, I'm sure he is working his way up KFC marketing and will be introducing KFC's new James Toney special double deep fried, double D-sized Chicken Bucket. All cong**** to Mr. Boozo who is a rare creative talent indeed and positively one of the most hallowed boxing experts of the 3rd millennia.
Boozo, one of my beloved band of brothers, RIP/ISP....
