I won't blast you but I'll say this. It made boxing look like **** with no regard for fighter safety. Had that even been a sparring match Rijker would have splattered Swank's brains out even as old as Rijker's is now.

...would be a reality show or documentary
Except that documentaries are no more than biased editorials anymore (SEE: anything by Michael Moore), and reality shows are hardly reality; get a bunch of models, a gay person, someone who hates gay people, and a military vetaran on a show together, place them in an extremely expensive and/or exotic location, edit the footage to create insane dramas, watch the $$$ roll in.

Movies are for entertainment, but they are also (and were originally) designed as a form of art. The complete lack of realism in Rocky 4, for example, along with it's propagated-to-sell Russa vs. USA push, all while milking the cash cow for all it's worth only made the movie seem cheesier; in addition to the phoney emotional ride of Creed's predictable, and again, unrealistic death. It pales, painfully so, in comparison to the previous three films, and even the sixth one. If it is artistically, realistically, and generally worse than it's predecessors, not to mention the shortest film, then it has no choice but to be crummy. My personal flavors aside, as this doesn't mean I won't watch the film when it comes on TNT or something.

The Rocky movies became an excuse for Stallone to get in great shape then make a movie where he could show off his phsique. The training montages in 4 and 6 had nothing to do with boxing, especially 6 where he trained exclusively like a powerlifter. When the hell was the last time Rocky sparred, hit focus mitts or any type of bag?

Rocky 1 remains a favourite of mine and #2 was good but the others suck. Remember Rocky and Creed running on the beach in #3 in short shorts then jumping up and down and hugging each other in slo-mo?

Doesn't get much gayer than that.

The training montage on 4 was the best to me,it really followed his determination to avenge his friends death.

Rocky 4 was ridiculous Cold War propaganda put into an even more ridiculous film. The family has a pet robot for Chrissakes! Drago is breaking cinder blocks with his fists and Rocky can take his punch. Rocky is training in the snow!

And then he makes Gorbachev clap for him during his "I can change, you can change" speech. Worst Rocky by a mile.

Best non-documentary about boxing, to me, is Raging Bull. If you consider On the Waterfront a boxing movie (movie about an ex-boxer), then that's my choice.
