I CLEARLY said Norton was awarded his title and why. I can't help you don't grasp that. And Shavers was not an eliminator, but Norton hot sparked and that is why Shavers got the title shot instead. You're trying to rewrite history by making false claims. Holmes was under no obligation to grant an immediate rematch. Had he been you may have had a point. As it stands, you're wrong as usual. Spinks was stripped of the title for refusing to fight Norton, who had already beaten the next best contender for the title and was therefore awarded the WBC strap. Why would Norton have to fight another fight when Spinks refused him and he had already beaten the next best contender? When a title is stripped or vacated the two top contenders fight to see who will become the next standing champion.
