    I agree with this.

    • Nice attempt, but have some holes.

Joe Louis should be in the top three, Ali is great but not the greatest, and Larry Holmes can't be two. Evander Holyfield, Tyson, and Lewis shouldn't be on this list. You need some old time names on here other than Jack Johnson. Jack Dempsey needs to be on here. He was a 195 pound heavyweight who destroyed giants. James J. Jeffries should probably be on this list as well. Good call on Tunney and Charles being underrated. I would say Tunney is the most underrated of all-time.

Feel free to get back I know many will disagree especially why I have Lewis 3rd and Tyson 10, so if you want to know just ask and I will explain my reasons

      • I always have a rougher time rating the heavyweights because of the weight variables. This doesn't necassarilly mean I'd rate heavyweights by how I think they'd do with one another in dream matches since the weights have gotten heavier. It's based on their relative success in their time. I do respect quality of opponents and add that consideration to the wins and losses.

If the fighter drew the color line when they held the title they don't get on and that includes Jack Johnson. Also one of my picks and one mentioned were denied title shots for that reason.

        Muhammed Ali
        Harry Wills
        Larry Holmes
        Lennox Lewis
        Wladimir Klitschko
        Mike Tyson
        Riddick Bowe
        George Foreman
        Evander Holyfield
        Joe Louis

Just missing the list are Sam Langford and Rocky Marciano

My heavyweight list gets mixed up a lot. If I keep looking at it I just keep changing it, lol......But these, anywhere mentioned, are my picks.

Decent list. But I think Lewis, Holyfield and Tyson are too high on that list and Wlad and Marciano shouldn't be there. I'd replace them with Jack Johnson and Sonny Liston. The rest should all be in the top 10.

                  • I just made a top 32 heavyweight list, I will probably change this several times. Criteria includes things like:
-Not beating any ATG's but having many consistent (title) wins.
-Beating one ATG and generally leaving a less than stellar record.
-Big kudos to guys who won the title at an advanced age.
-Some get more credit for talent than others, depends on the era.

                    1-Ali
                    2-Louis
                    3-Lewis
                    4-Foreman
                    5-Holyfield
                    6-Holmes
                    7-Johnson
                    8-Marciano
                    9-Tyson
                    10-Frazier
                    11-Patterson
                    12-Liston
                    13-Dempsey
                    14-W.Klitschko

                    21-Byrd
                    22-Young
