    Boxing history,

I am a researcher of Canadian boxer http://www.yvondurelle.com life and boxing career. In my project, I wish to contact some of Durelle opponents as listed over here: http://yvondurelle.com/?p=55 . Do you have any contact information to reach these boxers or family? If you wish, you can email me this information in private at robertr@nbnet.nb.ca .

In addition, from others, you will find on YvonDurelle.com some audio clips from Yvon Durelle vs. Tony Anthony in Detroit (1957). What a fight!

Thanks in advance for your support.

I'm sorry but I can't be of much help to you.

BUT, I will point you in a direction of a better forum for boxing history (though not neccesarily contemporary boxing).

It was in the book Cinderella Man. It's a story that's been circulated for years. Maxie's Gal wants exact clarification I believe and unless Baer had an audience I don't know how it's going to be 100% verified.

she kept saying, " no way, that's not possible, there were so many people in and out of max's dressing room. jack dempsey wouldn't let that happen " or something like that. i said, maybe baer made dempsey watch

There's alot of urban myths surrounding old time fighters and Baer is no exception. Maxie's Gal is doing her best to set the record straight regarding Baer and has attempted to gather some sort of corroborating evidence to substantiate it. Maxie's Gal has been at another website asking around.

Like I said it could be true it could be exaggerated, but the story has been around for quite some time.
