Finally get to see a Savon fight. He's impressive.
What happened though at the end? I know it's the amateurs but it was weird, Brewster looked okay after that punch and they just stopped it?

fidel is a bastard, he likes his boxers winning medals but he pays them ****. that's all he cares about, medals and more medals, and his people representing his country? nothing.

yea, they stopped it, probably they saw brewster being shocked from the right hook. that's why probably they stopped it.

Whenever I see past amateur fights of contemporary heavyweights, I'm always impressed by how quick they are, how many punches they throw per round, and the energy they bring to the fight. Then they become successful pros and get fat, slow, and apathetic.

An interesting little microcosm for capitalism perhaps. Does wealth corrupt?

Wealth corrupts most sports stars and people in general, it's the rule rather than the exception. I think the only people who it doesn't corrupt are the people who actually define themselves from the profession they are in; people who don't rest on their laurels; people who actually enjoy what they do rather than simply doing it for the money.

Felix and Teofilo Stevenson are the two greatest amateur heavyweights ever. But they were also kind of like pros facing amateurs. They were older and twice as experienced than almost everyone they faced. Their whole life was dedicated to boxing.

The greatest American amateur may very well have been Mark Breland.
