"If I had a lower IQ, I could enjoy your conversation." - so says Ali
Uh, Muhammad...your previously tested IQ score was only just above "mental ******ation" according to the Simon-Binet Scale, so it's probably not a good idea even considering having a lower IQ.Comment

Ali is mildly dyslexic and as a result semi-illiterate. That wouldn't exactly translate well into a standardized IQ test. In addition there is always the possibilty Ali purposely 'flunked' that exam to avoid Army service.

Anyone who has sampled Ali's wit, his ability to deliver speeches or debate the 'educated' regarding political issues of his era would agree that Ali is hardly a mere notch above "mental ******ation."Last edited by SABBATH; 02-21-2007, 04:56 AM.Comment

You can learn through Oral learning.
How many people at Harvard can achieve what Ali achieved at Boxing?
There are a number of athletes that probably can't read well, but can perform great in there work.
If Ali couldn't read, it says something about the Educational System.
While we are talking about the ability to read , look at our ENGLISH LANGUAGE.
How many words in our language do not sound like they spell?
What is with all the silent letters?Last edited by Benny Leonard; 02-23-2007, 12:07 AM.Comment

It was interesting to watch Cus time Ali's style with counterpunches that, had he been young or in any kind of shape other than that of an old man, would have landed. Ali's reply was simply, "No, Frazier ain't that fast," or, "He don't fight that way...".
Ali's demonstration of smack talk was mighty entertaining!Comment

That was based on his Army IQ test.

Ah, come on, man...When Ali leaves an opening such as he did in that video, can't I take the opportunity to poke fun at the guy just one single time without you coming in to defend him?
Hey, you might be proud of me (or not), as not even a week ago I picked up a copy (in suprisingly perfect condition) of "My Own Story" from a used book store for only a mere 99 cents...It's been quite a few years since I last read it, so maybe one of these days I'll have to do so again.
P.S. I like your username, Ol' Wizardry One, and welcome.Comment
