I get the feeling that they'd agreed for it to be a 'fake skirmish' and then Foreman hit him a little too hard.

This is just a teaser unfortunately and doesn't show all the fights but it was an interesting concept having a top level fighter take on 5 journeyman opponents one after another.
            - -What, Llamar Clarke knocked out 4-5 guys one night for a long unbeaten streak that was good for extra ink in all the dailies back when.

It was good pub for George back when Ali was turning down $5 mil offers for the rematch. As such, highly successful as ABC/Cosell/Ali made baboon derrières out of themselves.

Certainly better than most of Ali's 2nd run with the title littered with stinkers & dubious officiating galore.

              I remember that spectacle.

Part of it BEING a spectacle was Ali being a pain in the butt, screaming for the fighters to "rope a dope."

Another part was Cosell, who seemed half way interested and half way annoyed by covering an "exhibition."

And it started with Charley Polite being very polite...mock-kissing George as they stood in front of the referee.

Really, it was a gutsy move from George. Even if he could KO each guy in one or two rounds, that's still risking getting worn out by the fourth or fifth guy, and being felled by a lucky punch. Those guys all had KO's in their records, right?

I recall at one point, George was fighting one of these guys, and turned to Cosell and said, "I'm tired."

He could've made it three (stooges) for the exhibition, but he made it five. That took some degree of nerve and guts, especially when he'd had recent confidence-losing losses that involved stamina.

I watched these exhibitions live. They were looked upon as a sideshow and did nothing but further erode Foreman from the minds of the boxing public.

                  - -That why George was on a splashy Sports Illustrated cover demanding the Ali rematch?

Looks like U minds fer boxing been erased for two decades now.

What'd U think about Loma vs Teo? Beyond U understanding?

Fitzsimmons Ko'd 5 men in one night. I believe the total was 19 rounds boxed.
