the result of that fight is possible, but I think a more realistic result is Ali winning by UD or TKO in the late rounds.

Would be a great fight. Marciano and Ali actually got along really well when they met and filmed this. Mutual respect from one great warrior to another. It's a ****ing shame how Marciano died soon after. I remember reading that Ali drove through red lights in order to make the funeral on time. He really liked Rocky.

A real Marciano vs. Ali fight, if they had met in their primes, could have been one of the greatest fights of all time or possibly the greatest. Arguably the greatest swarmer/slugger vs. the greatest boxer in a classic styles match up. The two could not have been much more opposite and their fights could have surpassed the Ali-Frazier trilogy (possibly not because Frazier's speed made it exciting as well but the Rock had more power so who knows).

Yeah, I imagine the slower, shorter reaching Marciano would have a lot of trouble catching Ali. Frazier was slippier against the quick punches, cut the ring off better than almost anyone in history, and had more hand speed as well. Then again, Rocky was darn near impossible to wear out, and had a lot of pure punching power given his small stature.

I still pick Ali on a UD or possible stoppage due to cuts.
