I hear that all the experts are here and I could really use some help, so here goes...
There was apparently a boxer of some repute named Haney - nicknamed "Battling" Haney - from San Francisco in the early 1900's. In either 1916 or early 1917 he went to Ajo, Arizona near the Mexican border looking for fights with the local miners and tough guys. Here he ran into a kid named Frank Luke who would later make his name as a fighter pilot in WWI. The two allegedly met for a six round bout in Ajo at this time.
Has anyone heard of Haney and can you tell me where or how I could find more information about this fight or any of Haney's other fights? Any clues at all would help. Many thanks.
