I know this sounds as easy as it gets, the outcome is beyond doubt, Dela hoya beats Nelson but could he have kayoed the professor, the durable Nelson has a granite, hard rock chin and only the Late Great salvador sanchez was able to stopped him, Nelson also proved in rematches that he's the better man against Fenech, ruelas and leija, who he all knockout, there was a time when oscar was an up and coming superstar and Nelson was holding the WBC superfeatherweight title, Dela hoya dominate the best fighters from 130-135, stopping Hernandez and Leija, who would later beat a past his prime Nelson, its an interesting scenario to see back then if a young Dela hoya could knockout the "the professor" from ghana, who has never ever been TKO'ed since Salvador Sanchez.

Maybe at 135, where Nelson was undersized.
I'm not sure DLH even beats the aging Nelson at 130 back then. DLH was green and actually fought just 2x at 130.
The top 130 lb fighters that DLH beat all came when they moved up to fight the bigger DLH.
The only top fighter during DLH's time at 130-35 that he beat that was actually in his weight class at the time was Rafael Ruelas. -
If you go by popularity, de la hoya is the bigger star. However, nelson easily accomplished more as a boxer than he did.Comment
