  • Who took the worst beating?

The question is: who took the worst beating in the history of televised or more accurately filmed boxing matches?

My vote has to go to Jess Willard when he fought Jack Dempsey in 1919, but that was back when you didn't have to go to a neutral corner while the ref counted, meaning that Dempsey just stood over Willard waiting to hit him as soon as he got up. He knocked Willard down six or seven times (not sure which) in the first round, Willard had to retire before the fourth.

    Your suggestions for any others?

        For the heavyweights:
        Dempsey-Willard
        Louis-Schemling II
        Holmes-Ali
        Tyson-Spinks

Jess Willard is top of the list.

Ali took a pretty bad one against Holmes and lets not forget Lamotta against Robinson.

I wouldn't call that one a beating. Spinks got took out but wasn't around long enough to take a beating.

For the televsion era, I'd say the "Beantown Beatdown" ranks right up there near or even at the very top...

              Jimmy Carter vs. Tommy Collins

Alright, I guess I understand that.

                    Foreman-Frazier is another one.
