  • Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, or Sugar Ray Robinson?

All three of these fighters have been considered the greatest of all time, but which of these three IS the greatest of all time.

Muhammad Ali (W 56 (37 ko's) | L 5 | D 0 | Total 61): 3 time heavyweight champion (1964-1967, 1974-1978, 1978). He's called himself the greatest of all time and has proved it time and time again. Without him the sport of boxing would be dead, he had the personality, and talent to be greatest of all time. Ali was a superior fighter, he had the speed of a lightweight and body of a heavyweight, and threw quick punches, but his best punch was his jab.

Joe Louis (W 69 (55 ko's) | L 3 | D 0 | Total 72): 1 time heavyweight champion, who defended the title for over 10 years (1937-1950). he had great speed, great movement, and he could punch.

Sugar Ray Robinson (W 173 (108 ko's) | L 19 | D 6 | Total 200): 6 time world champion in two weight divisions (1 time welterweight champion (1946-1951), and 5 time middleweight champion (1951, 1951-1952, 1955-1957, 1957, 1958-1960)). Sugar Ray was what people call a perfect, he had it all speed, power, etc. He just did everything right.

so, of these three great fighters, how would you rank them, who is the greatest of all time?

    my list:

    1. Sugar Ray Robinson
    2. Joe Louis
    3. Muhammad Ali

Robinson is the greatest boxer ever, but not by as far as some people claim. Them three aren't my top 3 either.

      My top 3 are:

      Robinson
      Pep
      Louis

      Out of those 3:

      Robinson
      Louis
      Ali

If we are talking supreme fighters and personalities then Ali is by far thee greatest. Mainly because he was huge outside the ring and he brought boxing to another level. And he would beat the other two in the ring.

In a p4p argument then Sugar Ray Robinson is the guy who holds the greatest title.

And Joe Louis was a great icon, the man who better'd Jack Johnson and broke the colour barrier forever. Also he was a great inspiration during world war two so in an iconic way Joe Louis is indeed the greatest.

Overall I can't decide as they are all hugely great in their own ways.
