Floyd Schofield is a promising lightweight who is calling out all the top names at and around 135 pounds.

It wasn’t pretty, but lightweight prospect Floyd Schofield fought through a nasty cut and the "dirty" tactics of Esteuri Suero for a fifth-round disqualification win Saturday at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.

Floyd Schofield will face Esteuri Suero in the co-feature fight of Saturday's DAZN show at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, and he predicts a KO – and bigger things ahead.

Undefeated William “El Camarón” Zepeda (29-0, 25 KOs) of San Mateo Atenco, Mexico and his opponent, Maxi “Maximus” Hughes (26-6-2, 5 KOs) hosted a press conference today in Las Vegas. The world title contenders will participate in a 12-round IBF and WBA Lightweight World Championship Eliminator fight.

Keyshawn Davis vs. Floyd Schofield Jr. makes all the sense in the world. Both compete in the same weight class, are relatively new when it comes to the title picture, and both are being touted as future stars.

Ryan Garcia can be described by using a ton of words. Flamboyant? Sure. Loquacious? Absolutely. A bit big-headed? At times. A lady's man? Without question. A terrific fighter? In the eyes of most, yes. Entirely too cocky and full of himself? From Floyd Schofield Jr.’s point of view, he certainly is.

Over-marination has been an issue in the sport of boxing. On far too many occasions, fighters who are dominating a certain division have danced around one another, despite fans and media members demanding that they get it on.

Floyd Schofield will at least maintain his desired in-ring activity level. A quick turnaround is in store for the unbeaten lightweight, who revealed that he will return to the ring on a March 16 DAZN show from The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. An opponent was not yet confirmed for the fight, which will land on the undercard of the already announced William Zepeda-Maxi Hughes WBA/IBF lightweight dual title eliminator.

If he wanted, Floyd Schofield Jr. could've continued to score highlight-reel-worthy knockouts over opponents you never heard of. The Texas native is a 21-year-old who’s in the infancy stages of his career, making fights against bottom feeders acceptable at this point. His 2024 could be much of the same, but Schofield is hoping that he’ll match up against some tougher comp.
