The hard-hitting middleweight prospect scored another win Friday night, dropping Fabrizio Rubino twice in the first round en route to a knockout at the Wind Creek Events Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

The six-round bout will take place during preliminary action of the ShoBox: The New Generation card.

Cedeno, resides in La Romana in the Dominican Republic, improved to 6-0, 6 knockouts.

From the opening bell, Cedeno was the aggressor, closing the distance between the two. Cedeno dropped Rubino twice before the fight was stopped at 1:15.

The 23-year-old is considered a top prospect and is promoted by Marshall Kauffman. None of his fights, thus far, have gone past the third round. Cedeno has only faced one fighter with a losing record.

Trifon Petrov, who manages Cedeno, believes his charge is ready to face the next level of opposition, eventually fighting in eight and 10-round bouts next year.

“Euri looked impressive once again,” Petrov told BoxingScene Sunday. “He did what he was supposed to do and got his opponent out of there in round one.

“We are looking for a step up fight for him, as Jamontay Clark looks like the most likely opponent for next month on another PBC card on Showtime. Clark fought to a draw with (junior middleweight contender) Sebastian Fundora and it will be a step up for Euri, but we believe he is ready for the challenge.”

Rubino, who resides in Mainz, Germany, falls to 3-2, 1 KO. The 33-year-old has lost back-to-back fights.
