ARLINGTON, Texas – Errol Spence Jr. and Yordenis Ugas comfortably made weight Friday morning for their welterweight title unification fight Saturday night.

Spence (27-0, 21 KOs), of nearby DeSoto, Texas, stepped on the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation’s scale at 146¼ pounds for their 12-round, 147-pound championship match at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. The Cuban-born Ugas (27-4, 12 KOs), who resides in Miami, officially weighed 146¾ pounds for this Showtime Pay-Per-View main event ($74.95).

Caesars Sportsbook lists Spence as a 6-1 favorite to win their fight for Spence’s IBF and WBC championships and Ugas’ WBA “super” title.

Spence, 32, will fight for the first time since a torn left retina required surgery in mid-August and forced him to withdraw from an August 21 showdown with Filipino legend Manny Pacquiao. Ugas, 35, replaced Spence on 11 days’ notice and upset Pacquiao (62-8-2, 39 KOs) by unanimous decision in their 12-round fight for Pacquiao’s WBA “super” 147-pound crown.
