Former four division world champion Erik Morales (52-8, 36KOs) conceded defeat on Saturday night, and gave credit to Danny Garcia (23-0, 14KOs), who won a twelve round unanimous decision over the Mexican veteran at the Reliant Arena in Houston, Texas.

Morales admits the years have caught up to him. He failed to make weight on Friday, coming at 142-pounds and looked to be out of shape in the contest. If Morales continues to fight, he would like to have a farewell bout in Mexico.

"I'm going to relax and think about what I'm going to do in the future. In the eleventh round I had him, but he hurt me with that punch to the jaw. He caught me and knocked me down. I honestly thought that I would dominate and knock him out, but never mind. Danny is young and hits hard. He is a normal fighter, not great, but it seems that [on Saturday] the weight of the years have taken their toll," Morales said.
