Later on tonight Badou Jack (22-2-3) will fight for the first time since his unanimous decision loss to Marcus Browne in January. Across the ring from him will be WBA world light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal (34-6-1).
The fight will will serve as the Showtime televised co-feature underneath the Gervonta Davis-Yuriorkis main event.
Jack's only other loss occurred in 2014 when he was caught cold by Dereck Edwards in the first round of what was a major upset. Mayweather Promotions' CEO Leonard Ellerbe, who promotes Jack, is very confident that Jack will come back just as strong from this loss.
After the loss to Edwards, Jack went on to capture world titles in the super middleweight and light heavyweight divisions. Ellerbe believes Jack's work ethic and drive to provide for his family will lead him back to the top.
"When he had his setback in 2014 he listened to what the game plan was. He used that as motivation. We had to go in the back door and fight Dirrell in Chicago. He went and took care of business and will do it again," Ellerbe told BoxingScene.com.
"He is a throwback. He is the type of young man who is not concerned with all the jewels and cars. He is a happily married man who is looking to continue to put his family in the best situation to be successful for their entire life. He is a different kind of fighter and has a different kind of mind set."
