Middleweight contender Elijah Garcia is out of tomorrow’s fight with Kyrone Davis “due to a sickness.”

The 16-0 southpaw had been hoping to impress against tough Davis, but the second of two televised preliminary fights – the other sees Brian Mendoza take on Serhii Bohachuk – to commence the Amazon Prime-PBC link up has been replaced by Mayweather Promotions' hot prospect Curmel Moton, 2-0 (2 KOs), who fights 7-0-2 (3 KOs) Californian Anthony Cuba, in a bout that had been scheduled for the end of the night.

Garcia and Davis had been respectful at yesterday’s press conference, with Garcia saying he knew he had to be on point to get past Davis and take his career to the next level.

The disappointment of Team Davis was palpable, with his trainer, Stephen “Breadman” Edwards, taking to X to write: “I’ve been saying for a while but it hit home this time. Boxing needs an insurance carrier for training camps. Kyrone Davis just had a great camp with lots of $ spent and now our opponent Elijah Garcia has pulled out due to a sickness. Very disappointed. Tough game we are in.”
