ARLINGTON, Texas – Eimantas Stanionis got his revenge against Radzhab Butaev on a much bigger stage Saturday night. The unbeaten Lithuanian became his country’s first recognized boxing champion when he beat Butaev by split decision in their 12-round, 147-pound championship match on the Errol Spence Jr.-Yordenis Ugas undercard at AT&T Stadium. Judges Robert Hoyle (117-110) and Jose Roberto Torres (116-111) scored Stanionis the winner over Butaev, who won 114-113 on the scorecard of judge Javier Alvarez.

The network will for the first time televise a special Showtime Championship Boxing headlined by WBA Welterweight Champion Radzhab Butaev and top contender Eimantas Stanionis in a battle of unbeatens taking place immediately before the four-fight Spence vs. Ugas SHOWTIME PPV from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Showtime telecast begins live at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT and also features unbeaten rising star Brandun Lee taking on Zachary Ochoa in a super lightweight bout.
Showtime and Premier Boxing Champions announced a much-discussed spring and early-summer schedule Tuesday. The loaded slate of fights includes seven PBC cards that’ll air live on Showtime and two Showtime Pay-Per-View events, which will feature Errol Spence Jr. and Gervonta “Tank” Davis. From March 26 through July 9, the PBC/Showtime schedule will be highlighted by seven world championship matches, including two title unification fights, and three title eliminators.

The agreed-upon WBA “World” welterweight title fight between Russia’s Butaev and Lithuania’s Stanionis is confirmed to land on the April 16 Showtime Pay-Per-View event headlined by the three-belt unification bout between IBF/WBC champ Errol Spence (27-0, 21KOs) and WBA “Super” titleholder Yordenis Ugas (27-4, 12KOs). Butaev-Stanionis is one of four fights to appear on the PPV telecast, though with direct ties to the main event with a guaranteed shot at the Spence-Ugas winner at stake.
