Edwin Valero in The Clear; Assault Charges are Dropped

By Jhonny Gonzalez

BoxingScene.com has received confirmation that Edwin Valero's wife, Jennifer Carolina, has refused to file assault charges against the fighter. She told authorities her injuries were caused by an accidental fall down a flight of steps. Valero was taken into custody last Thursday after his wife arrived with a variety of injuries to the University Hospital of Los Andes in Mérida, Venezuela.

Per the medical reports, Valero's wife was listed as having multiple bruises, scratches and collapsed lung from a blow to the ribs. Valero arrived to the hospital in a very hostile manner and was taken into custody by the CICPC (The Body of Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations). Valero is set to go free with the latest developments.

Valero's mother, Eloíza Vivas, is backing the same story and told authorities last week the wife had fallen down a flight of steps.
