Keyshawn Davis is back on the hunt for a title challenger after a deal was not reached to face Edwin De Los Santos in his first title defense.

It was a hastily made fight, the opponent invited on the heels of two losses in his last three fights, including a knockout defeat. Maybe that’s all anyone making matches for new WBA 140-pound champion Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz needs to know, considering the popular Mexican’s penchant for unleashing hellacious punches that only the most granite of chins can withstand.

Lightweight titleholder Shakur Stevenson is ready to rejuvenate his career following a forgettable win against Edwin De Los Santos in November and a short-lived retirement in February.

Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz has renewed his long-term promotional contract with lightweight contender Edwin “La Granada” De Los Santos (16-2, 14 KOs)

Shakur Stevenson (21-0, 10 KOs) confirmed his return to the ring July 6 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., and said he'll respond to criticism over his last fight by "turning it way up" in the ring.

Heading into his showdown against Edwin De Los Santos, Shakur Stevenson promised to put on a show. However, as the rounds grew more and more mundane, fans began booing profusely. Once they realized that the action simply wasn’t going to pick up, they grabbed their belongings and headed for the exit.

It’s been a while since fans have seen Gary Russell Jr. in the ring. The former featherweight champ has been both out of sight and out of mind since losing his title to Mark Magsayo in January of 2022.

Jose “Rayo” Valenzuela was a hot-shot lightweight prospect before Edwin De Los Santos got his hands on him. In September of 2022, both men hit the canvas in the second round. With De Los Santos having his legs underneath him a bit more, he sent Valenzuela to the pavement once more in the third before closing the show just a few seconds later.

Less than a month after Edwin De Los Santos landed only 40 total punches against Shakur Stevenson, Regis Prograis landed 36 punches over 12 rounds against Devin Haney, setting the new CompuBox record for fewest total punches landed in a twelve round fight. Prograis only landed 2 punches in six of the twelve rounds. Haney’s elusiveness resulted in Prograis landing 10% of his punches.

The words of Jamaine Ortiz were drowned out. Although he shouted as loud as he could, those who heard him gave the lightweight contender an incredulous look. Shakur Stevenson was heavily favored heading into his showdown against Edwin De Los Santos earlier this month.
