Junior lightweight Dominic Valle seeks greatness from his boxing career, and that is it.

Valle will face Angel Vazquez Lupercio, tonight, April 10, as part of ProBox TV’s Wednesday Night Fights.

It means Valle (8-0, 6 KOs) has another stern test. Vazquez Luperico (12-1, 6 KOs) saw his undefeated record taken by Mohamed Soumaoro last March, stopped in the eighth of a 10-round bout, and he hasn’t fought since.

Now, Valle is set to make a statement and position himself amongst the interesting, emerging junior lightweight prospects.

“The camp went great,” said Valle. “I had great sparring. I did what I always do to prep for a fight. Everything went as it was supposed to.”

Though Valle is confident, a win on Wednesday night is not the destination. It simply continues the journey.

He is now close to 10-round fights, meaning he is close to main event status and on the cusp of getting to the point of big fights.

“A win will just continue me on my road to being what I want to be, [which is] one of the greats,” proclaimed Valle. “I have only one desire in this sport and that is to be mentioned with the greats of boxing. That is all.”

Though Vazquez Lupericio has previously fought on ProBox TV, Valle isn’t that familiar with the fighter from Mexico. Without missing a beat Valle explained the following when asked what he knew of his opponent before the fight was offered to him.

“I’ve never seen or heard of my opponent prior to this fight,” said Valle. “But I’m ready for whatever.”
