German light heavyweight Dominic Boesel has been injured in sparring and his fight against EBU champ Karo Murat scheduled for December 16 in Weissenfels is postponed. SES will announce a new date shortly. IBF Int´l heavyweight champ Aleksander Dimitrenko, now to be promoted by EC Boxing, will as previously reported headline EC`s show in Hamburg December 22. Opponent will be Adnan Redzovic, 18-2. Redozovic was last seen getting knocked out by Tom Schwarz in a fight for the WBO I/C title.
Former WBO cruiserweight king Marco Huck is not about to hang up the gloves and tells BILD that he will continue his career next year in the heavyweight division. Huck fought then WBA champ Alexander Povetkin back in 2012 and came close to an upset but it must be said that Povetkin was pretty much out of shape for that fight.
SES heavyweight Tom Schwarz is out with injury and will not be able to defend the WBO I/C title against Pole Marcin Siwy as planned. This was to be the main event on SES´ show at the Maritim Hotel in Magdeburg on September 30. Stepping up as headliners are light heavies Adam Seines and Dominic Boesel. Deines (12-0-1) is fresh off sparring with WBC cruiser champ Mairis Briedis and will take on an opponent to be announced for a title to be announced.
Newly crowned EBU light heavyweight champion Karo Murat could, according to BILD, make his first defence of the title against the man he just beat to win the title, Dominic Boesel. The next show promoted by SES will go ahead July 1 in Dresden. On top there is a very interesting fight for the now vacant EBU light heavyweight title between Dominic Boesel (24-0) and Karo Murat (30-3-1). It was first actually announced by the EBU that then champion Robert Stieglitz would take on Boesel but he has now relinquished the title and in comes Murat, who is promoted by EC Boxing. Boesel holds the WBO and IBF I/C as well as the WBA Cont´l titles but Murat have more experience from bigger fights.
SES have not confirmed it but according to the EBU there is an agreement in place for EBU light heavyweight champ Robert Stieglitz (50-5-2) to defend the title against stablemate Dominic Boesel (24-0) on June 24 in Magdeburg. It was expected that either Stieglitz or Boesel would step aside rather than fight each other but apparently they thought otherwise. Stieglitz comes off a disappointing draw against Nikola Sjekloca in his last outing and afterwards hinted
Erik Skoglund has relinquished his position as official challenger for EBU light heavyweight champ Robert Stieglitz last week and Dominic Boesel, reigning IBF I/C, WBA Con and WBA I/C champ, is the new official challenger.
Robert Stieglitz, the former super middleweight world champion of the World Boxing Organization, defended the EBU light heavyweight title and retained it with a twelve round draw with Serbian Nikola Sjekloca in the main event of a card which took place at the Leipzig Arena in Leipzig, Sachsen, Germany.
