Dmitriy Salita: record, next fight and profile →
The undercard has been announced for promoter Dmitriy Salita blockbuster "Detroit Brawl" on Friday, June 16, 2017, at the Masonic Temple in Detroit and it features an impressive mix of local and international prospects in high-stakes match-ups.
It’s been more than four months since heavyweight prospect Jarrell Miller last fought. Part of that inactivity can be attributed to waiting for and working toward the right opportunity. But the other significant factor is what happened three months ago.
Responding to recent statements made to the media by Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller that he is a free agent, Dmitriy Salita (Salita Promotions) has responded by confirming that his company’s promotional agreement with Miller is valid and subsisting and wishes to remind would-be promoters of the valid promotional contract he has with the red-hot heavyweight contender.
To quote my attorney, Leon Margules, Esq. from a letter which he addressed to Dmitriy Salita from Star of David Promotions a/k/a Salita Promotions “You are hereby notified that due to your clients’ breaches and its continued and persistent wrongdoings, the Promotional Agreement dated March 15, 2014 with Jarrell Miller is terminated and he is free to seek other opportunities in furtherance of his career”.
Promoter Dmitriy Salita proudly announces the signing of decorated amateur boxer from Detroit turned extremely promising professional, Jarico "The Great Lakes King" O'Quinn, to a promotional agreement.
Detroit, MI (April 26, 2016) - The featured fights and undercard fighters have been announced for Salita Promotions' latest old-school night of boxing entitled "Detroit Brawl" on Saturday, May 14, at the Masonic Temple in Downtown Detroit.
Constantin Benejaru picked up the biggest win of his young career, though was required to climb off the canvas to preserve his unbeaten record following a 10-round win over Alexey Zubov. The matchup of unbeaten cruiserweights (both boxers were 10-0 going in and also making their respective ShoBox debuts) turned out to be a one-sided boxing lesson in favor of Benejaru - born and raised in Moldova but now based out of Brooklyn, New York - who won on all three scorecards by tallies of 78-73(2x) and 77-74.
NEW YORK (March 15, 2016) – Eight talented up-and-coming boxers with a combined record of 116-2-4, 71 KOs will compete on a compelling ShoBox: The New Generation quadrupleheader on Friday, April 15, live on SHOWTIME (10 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast) from Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, N.Y. In a clash of unbeaten bantamweights in the main event, undefeated world-ranked Nikolay Potapov (14-0, 6 KOs), of Podolsk, Russia, faces Stephon Young (14-0-2, 6 KOs), of St. Louis, Miss. in a 10-round bout. Eudy Bernardo (21-0, 15 KOs) of the Dominican Republic faces Mason “Rock Hard Mighty” Menard (30-1-0, 22 KOs), of Rayne, La., in an eight/10-round battle of hard-hitting lightweights in the co-feature.
Felix Verdejo still has one unbeaten boxer to get past this weekend, but another is already pleading his case to face the rising lightweight contender for his next Big Apple adventure. Fellow undefeated lightweight Eudy Bernardo (21-0, 15KOs) has taken note of the current schedule in place for Verdejo. A win over Brazil’s William Silva this weekend at Madison Square Garden Theatre in New York City – which will air live on HBO - is due to lead to an April homecoming in San Juan, Puerto Rico followed by a return to MSG in June, on the eve of the annual Puerto Rican Day parade.
He knew it was a risk to enter the fight with Rakhim Chakhkiev at less than 100 percent, but Junior Wright would rather go down fighting than to have pulled out of their clash last May. It simply wasn't his night, as he suffered a one-sided 8th round stoppage to the Russian cruiserweight, who in turn was knocked out by Ola Afolabi in his very next fight. The win by Afolabi put him in line for a fourth crack at longtime rival Marco Huck this weekend in Germany, while Chakhkiev is forced to rebuild. As for Wright, a little rest and rehabilitation came after his loss, undergoing surgery and having since returned to win two straight.
