Heavyweight contenders Dillian Whyte and Tyson Fury have been trading heavy words over the last few weeks.

Whyte is back on July 20th, when he faces undefeated challenger Oscar Rivas at The O2 Arena in London.

A few months ago there was talk of the WBC ordering a final eliminator between Fury and Whyte - an idea which Fury and his handlers threw water on.

Whyte has sitting in the top rated position, under the WBC, for over 600 days.

But it's more than likely that Fury will be the first to gain a crack at WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

Fury claims Whyte is scared of him - something that Whyte has laughed off.

According to Whyte, he already faced off with Fury in a sparring session. And Whyte states that he laid Fury out when they traded punches.

"Tyson's awkward, he's long, he's rangy, some days he may outbox you here and there, but I definitely laid him out before," Whyte told Sky Sports News.

"I definitely put him on his bottom before. I don't like talking about sparring, but seeing as he wants to come out and say, he's put it on me in the gym and this, that, and whatever.

"Come on man, put what on who? You guys know me, you guys know what I'm like, what's he going to put on me? I'm not scared of Tyson Fury. The facts are the facts, he called it on, when the 'Can Man' showed, he didn't want it. I'm the 'Can Man', whoever want it, can get it. If Tyson Fury want it, he can get it, but he don't want it."
