Liverpool's Carl Dilks, 16-6 (5), has had to withdraw from Friday night's crossroads showdown with up-and-coming light-heavyweight contender Hosea Burton, 5-0 (1). The fight was due to take place on a Coldwell Boxing show at Manchester's Bowler's Arena venue, but it has been pushed back as Dilks's medical paperwork wasn't cleared in time for the contest. Manchester's Burton will now meet Sheffield's brilliantly monikered Carl “Born 2 B” Wild, 14-18-5 (1), over six-threes.

Earlier this week, Manchester's David Barnes found out that Bolton's Rick Godding had pulled out of their British welterweight title eliminator. Barnes, 25-2-2 (11), will now face Slovakia's Ivan “Little Dragon” Godor, 11-28-4 (6), over six-threes on the Bowler's bill, which is topped by Curtis Woodhouse's fight with unbeaten prospect Shayne “The Pain” Singleton, 13-0 (3).

Woodhouse won the English title courtesy of a ten-threes majority decision win over Dave Ryan last September. The 17-4 (11) champion makes the first defence of his belt on Friday night and will have to be on form to overcome Singleton, who has a big fan base in his home town of Colne and will be roared on by his enthusiastic followers.
