MIAMI – Canelo Alvarez and Avni Yildirim came in at exactly the same weight Friday afternoon at the JW Marriott. Other than that, they are viewed entirely differently entering their 12-round, 168-pound title fight Saturday night at nearby Hard Rock Stadium. Alvarez, arguably the best boxer, pound-for-pound, in the sport, is consistently listed as a 50-1 favorite to beat Yildirim in a mandated defense of his WBC super middleweight title.

Marc Castro, Diego Pacheco, Alexis Espino and Austin Williams will perform on the biggest of stages on the undercard of the World title clash between Canelo Alvarez vs. Callum Smith at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday December 19, live on DAZN in 200+ countries and territories worldwide and on TV Azteca in Mexico.

Diego Pacheco tore through Juan Antonio Mendez on Friday night. The 19-year-old super middleweight prospect overpowered the Mexican veteran with right uppercuts that abruptly brought an end to their scheduled six rounder in the second round at TV Azteca Studios. Referee Rafael Saldana ended their bout at 2:02 of the second round, as soon as Mendez took a knee after absorbing another right uppercut.

Diego Pacheco is ready to take the next step in his exciting career as he prepares for his tenth pro fight in Mexico City on Friday night, live on DAZN. FRISCO, Texas – Jesse Rodriguez overwhelmed Marco Sustaita for most of their flyweight fight Saturday on the Mikey Garcia-Jessie Vargas undercard. The 20-year-old southpaw spent much of their bout backing up Sustaita with straight left hands, uppercuts and right hooks. Sustaita finally had some success in the seventh round, which he began by catching a Rodriguez with a left hook that seemed to get the 20-year-old prospect’s attention.

FRISCO, Texas – Mikey Garcia came in a pound-and-a-half below the limit for his welterweight fight against Jessie Vargas, just as he did for his 147-pound debut last year. Garcia officially weighed in at 145½ pounds late Friday morning when he stepped on the Texas Combative Sports Program’s scale. Vargas, who’s about four inches taller than Garcia, came in exactly at the welterweight limit of 147 pounds.

Diego Pacheco made the most of an unexpected televised showcase. The 18-year old super middleweight celebrated his first full year as a pro in style, scoring an emphatic 1st round knockout of Tanzania's Selemani Saidi in their swing bout Saturday evening at Diriyah Arena in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.

Staples Center, Los Angeles, California - Ronny Rios (32-3, 16 KOs) retained the WBA "gold" super bantamweight title with a fourth round knockout of Hugo Berrio (28-8-1, 18 KOs). Rios is returning from a big upset, when he knocked out undefeated Diego De La Hoya in six rounds back in July.
