IBF junior lightweight champion Mzonke Fana is walking on a thin line. He recently withdrew from his June 11 mandatory defense against Argenis Mendez. In a strange one, Fana claimed that he didn't have a trainer and was basically running a "one man" training camp. But Fana's manager, Butityi Konki, claims the boxer never signed a contract because he wanted more money. Lou DiBella, who promotes Mendez, believes the IBF should do the right thing by stripping Fana of the title.

"I believe the IBF should strip Mzonke Fana. My guy was ready to fight in South Africa. He wasted his time in training camp. Fana is obviously not ready to fight. He knew about the fight well in advance. It's not his promoter's fault. I don't blame Branco, but the IBF should take away Fana's title," DiBella told BoxingScene.com.
