George Warren wants Denzel Bentley to stay busy and build on the momentum he generated by stopping Danny Dignum at London’s York Hall on Saturday night.

Danny Dignum insists that a victory over Denzel Bentley will revitalise his career. The middleweights meet in a genuine crossroads fight on May 11 and the Londoner knows that it is a fight he must win. Both men came up short in their fights with now unified WBO and IBF middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly, but they each left Las Vegas with wildly different tales to tell. Whereas Bentley, 18-3-1 (15 KOs), recovered from a slow start to push Alimkhanuly hard over the second half of their fight and emerge with his reputation enhanced, things didn’t go as well for Dignum, 16-1-1 (9 KOs). The Londoner was never allowed to find his feet and was taken out in the second round by the quality Kazakh in May 2022.

Last week, Hamzah Sheeraz was revealed as Queensberry’s middleweight selection for the upcoming 5 vs. 5 battle with Matchroom. Sheeraz will fight Austin “Ammo” Williams in Saudi Arabia on June 1.

Queensberry Promotions will return to London’s York Hall on May 11, when Denzel Bentley and Danny Dignum will headline in a middleweight showdown that has serious implications for both.

Denzel Bentley was on the receiving end of one of the performances of the year when last November Nathan Heaney made a mockery of the pre-fight odds and produced an excellent, disciplined performance to outpoint him and take the Londoner’s British middleweight title.

Every fighter celebrates a big win differently. There might be a big night out or two - or three in some cases - with friends and a week of cheat days but it generally doesn’t take too long for the phone to stop ringing, the congratulatory messages to taper off and for life to return to normal.
