DeMarcus “Chop Chop” Corley will be turning 40 in June, but he doesn’t seem to be inclined toward hanging up his gloves just yet. While Corley says he could be facing lightweight John Molina on the March 21 episode of ESPN2’s “Friday Night Fights,” Molina informs BoxingScene.com that there is no bout with Corley in the works and that he is seeking opportunities other than a bout with Corley.

Alexander Kahl, the 36-year old heavyweight trialhorse with a heavily padded record, continued his downslide losing within a round for the fourth time in a row. It took local prospect Agit Kabayel (7-0, 5 KOs) just 81 seconds to get the job done, while scoring two knockdowns in process. Kahl is now 18-11-1, 16 KOs with a TKO 1 loss to 1-10-2 fighter. The 21-year old Turk needs a step up in class.

Big test for former WBC Silver welterweight champion Selcuk Aydin who'll take on veteran DeMarcus Corley this Friday in Tekirdag, Turkey. After losing to Roberto Guerrero in July 2012 and to Jesus Soto Karass in January this year, Aydin decided to move down in weight and compete at 140 lbs. The hard hitting Turk came back from his first two career defeats with two convincing wins over Giuseppe Lauri in March and Aaron Herrera in July. and is eyeing another world title shot soon.

As BoxingScene.com reported a few days earlier Turk Selcuk Aydin will face American veteran DeMarcus Corley on September 27 in Tekirdag, Turkey, in a fight made at jr welter. This matchup caught many with surprise as there were indeed signed contracts for Aydin to take on Ignacio Mendoza. This became a done deal (contracts were according to boxen-heute.de signed before the show) when Aydin and Mendoza both won their respective fights July 27 in Cuxhaven on a Arena Box Promotion show. Mendoza won the vacant IBF jr welter title and his first defence would be against Aydin.

Turkish boxer Selcuk Aydin will face experienced American veteran DeMarcus Corley on September 27th in Tekirdağ, Turkey, in a card promoted by Arena Boxing Promotions. DeMarcus Corley (39-20-1, 23 KO’s) lost his last fight against Viktor Postol for the WBC International title. Aydin (25-2-0, 18 KO’s) is a former Silver champion who defeated Mexican Aaron Herrera by an impressive KO in June. Aydin has stressed he wants to return to the elite of boxing but first he must win this fight.

INDIO, CALIF. - Two of the hottest fighters in the junior welterweight division will meet at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif. on Saturday, July 20 when unbeaten 21-year-old phenom Frankie "Pitbull" Gomez challenges former World Champion DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley in a 10 round main event which will be televised live on FOX Sports Networks and FOX Deportes and on FUEL TV on delayed basis. Featured in the televised co-main event will be the return of local hero Randy Caballero to Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, the site of 11 of his 18 professional fights, when he faces Puerto Rico's Miguel Robles in a 10-round junior featherweight matchup.

He held a world title at junior welterweight from 2001 to 2003, continued to challenge for belts in that weight class for years to come, and has competed at or around 140 for nearly his entire career — but no longer, he says. Now DeMarcus “Chop Chop” Corley wants to go to lightweight, win a world title in that division and then finish his career. Corley essentially was a lightweight in his last bout, when, according to BoxRec.com, he weighed in at 135.25 pounds for his bout with Viktor Postol for something called the World Boxing Council International Silver light welterweight title.

Danny Garcia’s rib injury that caused his Feb. 9 fight with Zab Judah to be postponed is a legit injury, according to his sparring partner, DeMarcus “Chop Chop” Corley. Corley unwittingly got caught up in the controversy when he gave an interview shortly after the postponement was announced, explaining that Garcia had suffered an injury — to his thumb. “We were in there sparring all last week, and Danny threw a body shot, a right body shot towards me, and I used — I put my elbow down to block the body shot from getting hit with it,” Corley had told TheKoncreteJungle.com. “He caught it on the thumb, on his right thumb, and he was having problems with it for the last whole week.

Though Danny Garcia is citing a rib injury that led to his Feb. 9 fight with Zab Judah being postponed until April 27, DeMarcus “Chop Chop” Corley says Garcia had suffered a thumb injury in training camp.
