BoxingScene.com has confirmed some of the recent rumblings in Canada, regarding a super middleweight collision between recently crowned IBF champion James DeGale (21-1, 14KOs) and Canadian superstar Lucian Bute (32-2, 25KOs).

The working date is November 14th in Quebec. The Videotron Centre, which holds over 20,000, is the venue being pursued. There has been no confirmation as to which Premier Boxing Champions network is being targeted for the fight.

Both Bute and DeGale are signed with manager/adviser Al Haymon.

DeGale became the first British Olympic gold medal winner to capture a world title when he traveled to the United States to win a twelve round decision over Andre Dirrell on May 23rd in Boston.

Bute snapped a very lengthy layoff last month, when he knocked out Andrea Di Luisa in four rounds at the Bell Centre in Montreal. It was Bute's first stoppage win since July of 2011.

Immediately after Bute's fight was over, there were immediate whispers of a fall fight with DeGale.

From what BoxingScene was told by multiple sources with knowledge of the negotiations, both fighters are on board with the match, but the financial terms have yet to be worked out.
