DeGale-Bute, Alvarez-Chilemba heading to date of 11/28?

By Carlos Boogs

A few days ago, reported that a deal was being negotiated for IBF super middleweight champion James DeGale (21-1, 14KOs) to defend his belt against Canadian superstar Lucian Bute (32-2, 25KOs). The fight is reportedly close, but not finalized as of yet.

The fight was being targeted for November 14th at the Videotron Centre in Quebec. Sources are now indicating that November 28th is appearing to be the more likely date for Bute's return.

Also on the card would be a doubleheader where Isaac Chilemba and Eleider Alvarez collide in a WBC final eliminator. A deal was reached between both sides a few days ago.

The third fight is still undetermined. A final IBF eliminator between Artur Beterbiev and Sullivan Barrera was the bout being mentioned, but Barrera is unable to enter Canada and now a purse bid is scheduled for next week. Beterbiev's side is expected to win the purse bid. Even in winning the issue with Barrera's visa would exist unless they decide to hold the fight elsewhere.

Degale might be better off sounding out Chudinov.
This, will probably be afternoon. DeGale vs. Dirrell was a NBC Afternoon card.
Yup that makes the most sense.
They wanted to make it a triple header that makes me believe it will be on SHO but it could be in the afternoon on NBC that way it will be in prime time for the Brits.
This, will probably…
Lot's of money and that he gets booed in the UK as an undercard fighter.
He got the loudest cheer of the night when he was last at a show in the UK when he was sitting in the crowd.
Showtime or ESPN?
Likely Showtime, but possibly on SpikeTV(PBC); ESPN likely has a college football game for that night, and the fight can't be on PPV in Canada unless its not on a broadcast channel (NBC/CBS/ABC/Telemundo/etc).
