Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya, who promotes Gilberto Ramirez, has made it clear that his company will do everything possible to push through a mandatory fight with WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol.

The World Boxing Association recently ordered Ramirez and Bivol to begin immediate negotiations for a fight.

However, in a recent interview, promoter Eddie Hearn noted that the was going to file an application with the WBA to secure an exception for Bivol to fight British Olympian Joshua Buatsi in October - and then face Ramirez.

De La Hoya is not concerned with Hearn's statements on the matter.

"Eddie Hearn is not Bivol's promoter, I am working with Bivol's manager [Vadim Kornilov], that fight is going to be negotiated, it is going to be done," De La Hoya told TV Boxeo.

“I am excited that Zurdo Ramírez finally has his chance, the one that he's been waiting for, and he is more than ready to beat Bivol and to gain revenge for Canelo and for Mexico."

Back in May, Bivol pulled off a major upset when he outboxed heavily favored Saul "Canel"o Alvarez over twelve rounds for a dominant decision win.

De La Hoya is hoping to set down the details for Bivol-Ramirez as soon as possible.

“We should know very soon, but Zurdo vs. Bivol is probably one of the most anticipated fights today, along with a few others because Bivol beat Canelo easily, no problem. Now Zurdo can avenge all his Mexican fans," De La Hoya said.

Ramirez, a former world champion at super middleweight, has been pressing for a WBA title shot for the last two years. Back in May, Ramirez secured his title shot when he demolished Dominic Boesel in the fourth round of their WBA final eliminator.
