Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. (57-8, 40 KO’s) has no problem with facing heavyweight banger Tyson Fury (21-0, 15KOs) - if the money is right.
Fury, standing at 6'9, called out several potential opponents on the social networks. Unexpectedly, he called out Jones, who hasn't fought at the heavyweight limit since a 2003 decision win over John Ruiz to capture the WBA heavyweight crown. It was Jones' first and only appearance as a heavyweight. Lately the 43-year-old has been fighting one division below Fury, as a cruiserweight.
"People think because he beat Cunningham, that he should have a chance to beat me. Taking nothing away from Cunningham, but I'm a different animal. For me, he's so big that why should I take that kind of risk for nothing. If it's the right kind of money... although I would like to go perform once in England before I retire. I would love that and he would be a good opportunity, and he would get the juices flowing because he's such a big dude that he's dangerous," Jones said.
"I'm smart enough to know when it's not a good situation. Unless it was big money, like it was with John Ruiz, that was a good situation for me. But if we fought at the O2 Arena before 25,000 people and the money was going to be phenomenal and I was going to be guaranteed a certain amount of money upfront. Now he's going to get my mind start thinking. I know how to beat a big dude and I've did it before."
