As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, former IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux will not be the dance partner of four division champion Miguel Cotto (41-5, 33 KOs) on December 2 at New York's Madison Square Garden. Instead, the Puerto Rican superstar will defend his WBO junior middleweight title against Sadam Ali (25-1, 14 KOs), who is moving up from the welterweight division.
Former IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux is being positioned to fight in early December at Madison Square Garden in New York City. There are ongoing discussions to see Lemieux (38-3, 33 KO) collide with four division world champion Miguel Cotto (41-5, 33 KO), who headlines that event. But whether or not Lemieux and Cotto will face each other on the card or appear in separate fights is up in the air.

Last month, Saunders returned to the ring and won a solid twelve round unanimous decision over Willie Monroe Jr. at the Copper Box Arena wants to box again before the end of the year.
Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom is mapping out the middleweight landscape for his newest client, for WBA 'regular' middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs). Hearn officially announced the signing of Jacobs this past weekend and intends to keep him very busy in the next twelve months. BoxingScene.com first reported a few days ago that Jacobs was being lined up to face undefeated Luis 'Cuba' Arias (18-0, 9 KOs) in the main event of an HBO televised card on November 11 at Nassau Coliseum in New York City.
Unbeaten middleweight Billy Joe Saunders (24-0, 12 KOs) is keen to take on the best in his division, should he defeat Willie Monroe Jr next month. On September 16th, the southpaw defends his WBO crown at the Copper Box Arena in London, but is already thinking about future match-ups against the likes of Saul Alvarez, Gennady Golovkin and Danny Jacobs.
Former IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (38-3, 33 KOs) will be keep a close eye on the comeback of Miguel Cotto, which takes place in less than two weeks time. New York - Finding it hard to secure fights in the 154 pound division, Demetrius Andrade (24-0, 16 KO’s) is more than willing to throw his name in the hat of boxers who are open to invading the middleweight division. Andrade was a viewing spectator this past Saturday at the Broner-Garcia fight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and hinted that if he wanted to move up, it had to be against a big name that would put him in front of the food chain. Andrade feels that a fight with former IBF world champion David Lemieux (38-3, 33 KO’s) would be perfect.
Former IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (38-3, 33 KOs) can finally return to the gym. He got the green light from his doctors to resume training. He was taking time off to fully heal a tear in one shoulder and a left hand injury that was sustained in his last fight, a ten round unanimous decision over Marcos Reyes, which took place in May as part of the Canelo Alvarez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. undercard at T-Mobile Arena in London.
WBO world middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders (24-0, 12 KOs) was hoping to secure a fight against Gennady Golovkin this year, but he might have to wait a little while longer after the announcement of the biggest fight of 2017 in Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez versus ‘GGG’.
With a potential match-up a possibility later this year, Billy Joe Saunders (24-0, 12 KOs) and David Lemieux (38-3, 33 KOs) have wasted no time in trading verbals. Saunders was due to defend his WBO World Middleweight Title on July 8th against Avtandil Khurtsidze, but that bout has been called off for legal reasons after the Russian fighter was arrested in New York City in connection to a RICO case.
