Former two-division world champion David Haye (26-2, 24KOs) is open to the idea of facing top heavyweight contender, and former champion, Alexander Povetkin (27-1, 19KOs).

Haye has been inactive since a 2012 TKO of Dereck Chisora. Two scheduled dates against Tyson Fury were called off by Haye. Povetkin returns in late May to score a knockout over Manuel Charr in seven rounds.

The British boxer was on the shelf for a several months after undergoing shoulder surgery. He now claims to be fully recovered and may return to the ring at the end of the year.

"With my shoulder it's all right, I feel great and I know that everyone is waiting for my return to the ring. I have resumed training, and generally speaking I am in pretty good shape," said Haye. "I'm looking for the opportunity [to fight this year], but I don't know with whom or in what part of the world the fight will take place."

"Alexander Povetkin is undeniably one of the best boxers in the world, he is a great fighter and also competing in my weight class. In principle it would be nice if I had a fight with him, but it's still too early to talk about it."
