After a failed attempt to dethrone compatriot and World Boxing Association featherweight super champion Chris John, Daud “Cino” Yordan has another shot at a world title.

By Jake Donovan - Cruiserweight titlist Krzysztof Wlodarczyk defeated Danny Green in hostile territory, scoring an 11th round stoppage in their title fight main event Wednesday at Challenge Stadium in Mt. Claremont, Australia.

BoxingScene.com has been advised by Sampson Lewkowicz, the adviser to WBA featherweight champion Chris John (45-0-2, 22KOs), that Australian super bantamweight Daniel Iannazzo will not be facing his boxer on November 30th at Challenge Stadium in Australia. The card is headlined by Danny Green challenging WBC cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Wlodarcyzk of Poland.

Jakarta International Expo, Jakarta, Indonesia - In one of the biggest fights on Indonesian soil, Chris “The Dragon” John (45-0-2, 22KOs) and Daud “Cino” Yordan (27-2, 21KOs) battled it out for the WBA super world featherweight championship. John retained his title with a twelve round unanimous decision. Not having any fear of Yordan's power, John stood on the inside and fought it out with Yordan for nearly the entire fight. Yordan's face had swelling around both eyes by the tenth round. It was one of the better performances from John in a long time. He was a lot bigger and appeared to be physically stronger than Yordan, who was very game and continued to trade with the more experienced champion all night. The scores were 116-112, 116-112 and 117-111.

By Cliff Rold - With a population just shy of 240 million, being a superstar in Indonesia and Indonesia alone is pretty damn impressive. That one could have their name spread into at least some part of the rest of the world is a level of fame, distinction, few can ever achieve. 31-year old WBA Featherweight titlist Chris John (44-0-2, 22 KO) has made 13 title defenses since entering the title scene, initially as an interim titlist, in 2003. Those defenses have come in four different countries, Australia, Japan and the U.S. giving John an impressive platform along with his homeland. So why does it feel like the Featherweight division is passing him by without John’s say? Maybe it’s the whole not being in Indonesia thing. After all, this weekend’s most watched fight won’t be on HBO or Showtime. In a fight fairly heralded in the build as the biggest ever staged in Indonesia, John will defend against 23-year old countryman Daud Yordan (27-1, 21 KO). It won’t be aired in the States. There’s still no denying its place as ‘the biggest fight in the world’ for a day. Then comes the next day. The winner of the bout, assuming it’s John, will be however many rounds older in ring years, still with the same belt he’s had for years, still no closer to where he could be at this stage. In some corners, even managing to do nothing but win, he’s losing esteem.

In what is the biggest fight in Indonesian boxing history, WBA's featherweight champion in recess, Chris John (44-0), will face countryman Daud “Cino” Yordan (27-1) in Jakarta on April 17. The fight will be held at the Jakarta International Expo for John's title. Sampson Lewkowicz, theinternational matchmaker for both boxers, helped make the fight possible.
