Regis Prograis sympathizes greatly with his rival, Teofimo Lopez Jr. Prograis, the WBC 140-pound titlist, stated in a recent interview that Lopez, the newly crowned WBO 140-pound titlist, needs to come over to his side of the promotional pond, Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, for the kind of paydays that he apparently cannot get with his current team.

Regis Prograis soaked in the last taste of pre-fight ambiance before he performs on familiar soil. The two-time and reigning WBC junior welterweight titlist was a lean and ready 139 pounds for his long overdue homecoming appearance. The occasion also marks Prograis’ first defense of his second title reign which comes versus Puerto Rico’s Danielito Zorrilla, who was also 139 pounds for their scheduled 12-round DAZN main event Saturday from Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Regis Prograis trusted his gut. The WBC super lightweight champion had some people he trusts telling him to sign a multi-fight promotional contract with Bob Arum’s Top Rank Inc. Others whose opinions Prograis values urged him to choose Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing.
Regis Prograis is well aware of the other top players in and around the 140-pound division. The only fighter on his mind through Saturday evening is Danielito Zorrilla.

Picking up a win for Teofimo Lopez appeared to be virtually impossible. Whether it was the betting market, his adoring fans, or his fellow contemporaries, many were of the belief that the chatty Lopez was simply in over his head this past weekend. But, despite being counted out and left for dead, it was Lopez who got the last laugh.
