As BoxingScene.com recently reported, Matchroom’s first NXTGEN card of the year takes place at the Utilita Arena Newcastle on Saturday March 18, live worldwide on DAZN.
On March 11, The WBC’s No.1 ranked Light-Heavyweight contender Callum Smith (29-1, 21 KOs) returns home to face undefeated Pole Pawel Stepien (18-0-1, 12 KOs) at the M&S Bank Arena as he looks to secure a showdown with unified WBC, WBO and IBF ruler Artur Beterbiev later in the year.
Cyrus Pattinson was scheduled for his first career ten-round fight but only needed six to post his latest win. The former amateur standout and current welterweight prospect offered his most complete performance to date in a sixth-round knockout of France’s Jorick Luisetto. Pattison sent Luisetto to the canvas twice, the latter producing an immediate stoppage at 1:59 of the sixth round in the opening bout of a five-fight DAZN show Saturday evening at Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England.
The show goes on even in the absence of its local hero. Maxi Hughes and Kid Galahad are prepared to take the lead in their makeshift main event, as both made weight for their scheduled twelve-round IBO lightweight contest. The bout will headline a DAZN telecast Saturday evening from Nottingham Arena in Nottingham, England.
Cyrus Pattinson has had his share of disappointments in the past year with late opponent pull-outs, and perhaps France’s Dimitri Trenel was wishing he hadn’t turned up either as he was battered to defeat inside three rounds.
Conor Benn prepares for his ascension from prospect to contender. The second-generation boxer kicks off his 2022 campaign with a scheduled twelve-round welterweight bout versus South Africa’s Chris van Heerden (28-2-1, 12KOs). Both boxers made weight for their DAZN main event which takes place Saturday evening at AO Arena in Manchester, England. Benn (20-0, 13KOs), Ilford, Essex, weighed a rock solid 146.5 pounds, while van Heerden weighed a lean and fit 145.8 pounds for his first career fight in the United Kingdom.
Conor Benn will defend his WBA Continental Welterweight Title against South Africa’s Chris Van Heerden at the AO Arena in Manchester on Saturday April 16, live worldwide on DAZN (excluding New Zealand and Australia).
Pabellón de la Vall d'Hebron, Barcelona - For the vacant EBU super middleweight title, Kerman Lejarraga (33-2, 25 KOs) had to rally to win a razor close ten round technical majority decision over previously undefeated Dylan Charrat (20-1-1, 6 KOs)
Former quality GB amateur Cyrus Pattinson made easy work of Yoncho Markov in his professional debut on the Ritson-Ponce undercard in Newcastle.
