Craig Glover Dominates Simon Vallilay, Stops Him in Eighth

By Luke Madeira

Newcastle - Craig Glover dominates Simon Vallilay with eighth round stoppage as he continues his charge to the British title.

Liverpudlian Glover won every round at the Metro Arena in Newcastle on his way to an eighth round stoppage victory on the undercard of Lewis Ritson’s maiden European title challenge.

Boxing live on Sky Sports, Glover got his man out of there after 66 seconds of round eight, setting his sights on newly crowned British champion Lawrence Okolie.

A huge overhand right in the first put Vallilay on the canvas, the Middlesbrough man finished the round visibly shook as Glover’s power became evident.

Glover continued his dominance with a number of huge shots in the second, a left hook rocking his opponent late on in the round.

Despite his success a cut opened up by Glover’s right eye caused by a punch, followed by a cut nose in the following round, although they seemed to pose him very few problems.

The former English title challenger then received a warning from referee Howard Foster for continual talking during the bout, Glover doing well to keep his cool despite the continual rule infringements.

Foster then took a point off Vallilay in the fifth for a blatant headbutt as his frustration began to show with his opponent dominating.

Round six and seven continued in the pattern of the previous rounds, Glover landing big shots with both hands to head and body.

The end finally came in the eighth with the underdog landing a huge right hand followed by a left hook to force the stoppage.

Vallilay’s corner had no complaints with the result, the win putting Glover firmly on the map of his fellow domestic cruiserweights.

That's the last time i give Valliley any credit going into a fight, the man has a massive attitude problem and is his own worst enemy.
