WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto is electing not to make any predictions for the upcoming fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. The fight is set for May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Cotto faced both fighters. He was beaten up and knocked out by Pacquiao in 2009 in a fight which took place at a catch-weight of 145-pounds. In 2012, a rejuvenated Cotto gave Mayweather all he could handle before losing a twelve round decision in a junior middleweight contest.

Cotto says he won't be ringside for the match, because his training camp will be ongoing for a planned return in June. Cotto and Pacquiao share the same trainer in Freddie Roach.

"Both camps know what to do. They will implement [their strategies] and we are going to see a great fight. [I won't be at the fight], I'll be training for my fight," Cotto told Jose Sanchez.

Before the deal was made, Cotto was rumored as being backup option for Mayweather. He failed to reach an agreement for a huge fight with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and many had felt he was stalling to secure the Mayweather rematch. Either way, Cotto says he is not bothered by the way things played out.

"No [I'm not bothered because I didn't get the rematch]. Everyone has their time and place. And right now it is their time," Cotto said.
