There is seemingly no end to the number of fighters who have bad blood with drug-embattled welterweight Conor Benn.

As soon as a video began circulating earlier this week showing retired welterweight Kell Brook getting back in shape, Benn did not waste time sending a churlish message to his compatriot.

In response to a tweet which stated that Brook has interest in fighting Benn, Benn poured cold water over that possibility—because of a sparring match long ago that apparently did not go well for Brook.

“Last time we tried to make the fight he chose retirement instead,” Benn tweeted. “Must have been that sparring session…”

Brook responded straightaway.

“who are you kidding you the one who cut the sparring short don’t flatter yourself p---y,” Brook tweeted.

Responded Benn, “Stop talking sh!t. You know the footage begs to differ!”

Brook then wrote, “put it out then let’s see it and don’t just put snippets on we won’t it all babi.”

Brook retired last year shortly after he stopped Amir Khan in six rounds. After that fight, Brook was considering one more fight, possibly against Chris Eubank Jr. or Benn, but he ultimately chose to hang up the gloves.

In recent months, Brook has hinted at a comeback. The Sheffield native was embroiled in controversy earlier this year when he was caught on video snorting a white substance at his home. Brook issued a statement apologizing for the incident and admitted that he has struggled in his post-boxing life.

On Instagram, Benn (21-0, 14 KOs) indicated that he thinks Brook (40-3, 28 KOs) is simply trying to catch him at an opportune time. In addition to Brook, Benn has feuded with Chris Eubank Jr., as well as previous opponents in Chris Algieri and Chris van Heerden.

“Banking on me being out for a year… just pent up aggression ready to be released,” Benn wrote.

Benn later added, referring to Brook, “biggest pile of [poop emoji].”

Benn has not fought since April of last year because he tested positive for a banned performance-enhancing drug twice. Despite the findings, Benn has continually maintained his innocence. Recently, in the wake of being reinstated into the welterweights rankings of the World Boxing Council, Benn appeared on Piers Morgan’s talk show to offer his tell-all on his situation.

Benn, however, is still under investigation by the British Boxing Board of Control and United Kingdom Anti-Doping, so he is unable to legally fight in his homeland. Nevertheless, he has made it clear he intends to fight out of the country in his next fight. BoxingScene.com understands Benn is set to return to the ring June 3 in Abu Dhabi.
