A cooperating referee allowed IBO/WBO/WBA/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko to do more clinching, holding and pushing and less fighting (7 of 22 jabs per round as opposed to 10 of 32 in his previous nine fights) than usual, with similar results. Alexander Povetkin landed an average of just five punches per round- the same number as Klitschko's previous nine opponents. Klitschko needed to throw just 35 total punches per round (12 landed) after averaging 16 of 48 in his previous nine fights. Povetkin didn't punch with his free hand while being tied up and as a result averaged just 24 punches thrown per round.
